We welcome pitches that help general readers see a design decision more clearly, using plain language and a specific subject rather than broad claims about what is fashionable or best.

What we want to read

Propose an article about a distinct object, graphic, interface, material or space. A strong piece has a clear question, a useful point of comparison or explanation, and details a reader can inspect without specialist training. We are especially interested in evergreen subjects that do not depend on breaking news, unsupported statistics or access to confidential information.

What to include

Send a short pitch explaining the subject, the central idea, why it is useful to readers and how you would support factual claims. Include a brief note about relevant experience only when it helps us assess the proposal; do not imply credentials you do not hold. We cannot promise publication or a response by a particular date.

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Please do not submit a complete article unless requested. Keep the pitch focused, and identify any relevant commercial interests or use of generated images.
